Rangers win 4-2 against the upstart Blackhawks last night at the Garden. It was even that close as the Rangos continually buzzed around the net all night. In the end, we got the victory and are 3 – 0 start for the first time since 1989 (PM or Pre-Messier)…Dubinsky, Voros and Zherdev were hot all night and continue to impress this very young season. Scott Gomez and Wade Redden quietly are leading the team ‘behind the scenes’…Not unnoticed. Oh yeah and Lundquist was razor sharp as you cannot take any team for granted.
You know the Hawks are up and coming with young stars like Toews and Kane and Sharp, but not quite a force yet. Christobal Huet looked shaky all night and will determine the success or failure of this team.
Its way to early to make any predictions, but the Rangers have skated hard every night. At least they wont be outhustled if they continue to play this way. Should be a tough out if they can keep it going. Also, this was the home opener with the ceremonial puck drop by all three #9 Legends, Adam (Gravy) Graves, Harry Howell (last to win Norris before Bobby Orr) and Andy Bathgate (Was Rangers’ Richard in 1950’s and 1960’s)…
#9 Will be retired in early 2009. Well deserved on all accounts.

[...] Rangers thrash the Devils last night 5 – 2. A very sweet victory indeed for a game played in MSG West (NJ Prudential Center). I couldnt hear “You Cant Beat Us” but I am sure the sentiment was there. [...]
