Ok, I know this is NFL Football Sunday, but also there is still some meaningful baseball to be played
Again as I predicted in my earlier posts (sort of), it will come down to the last game for Los Mets. Johan Santana pitched his mind out yesterday, going 9 innings on 3 days rest and blanking the Marlins 2 – 0. Can he pitch again today?? This was a money performance, plain and simple.
Well, the Phillies already clinched the NL East Division for the second year in a row (c’mon Mets) and now the final wildcard spot comes down to the Mets and Brewers. I am a Yankee fan but would still love to have NY team win the World Series this year. As Yogi always said, it aint over till its over. Got 9 innings left to prove you still got grande cojones.
Milwaukee looking to make the playoffs for the first time since 1882, um 1982. Another one of those cursed team theories by me. But they are turning to loaner player CC Sabathia against the Cubs, him pitching for the 4th game in a row on 3 days rest. Is he out of steam? At least the Brew crew knows they are going out with their ace, do or die.
I still think the WS will be the Angels and Cubbies (Lou factor), but more on that in later weeks. At least the Cubs have a huge role in the Brewers even getting a shot today. Lets see if they don’t rest all their starters.
