Rangers defeat Ottowa Sens 2 -1 in a shootout last night at MSG for 3rd Win in a Row, extending their lead in the Division by 4 points over surging Boston…
Ok, lets not get too crazy here folks. I have watched most of these games and this team is not a world beater, just yet! The keys to success are playing smart D, killing Power Plays (#2 in the NHL) and amazing Goaltending by King Henrik (no surprises here).

I have been disappointed by the overall lack of scoring though. It seems like they want to play even with most teams and see who blinks first. This isnt Chess, think of it as Texas Hold ‘Em. If you got 2 Kings, dont wait in the weeds, jump all over it. At least they have shown the ability to come back from being down and consistent pattern of playing strong in the 3rd period (a very good sign).
2 of the last 3 wins they were down 2 – 0 to Boston and 1 – 0 to Ottowa, both going into the 3rd Period.

Enigmatic Nik Zherdev rode the pine most of the 3rd period due to his lazy play, but got the only goal in the Shootout as the lone goal and game winner. This guy has crazy talent, but needs to keep skating to be successful.
Rematch in Ottowa later this week. Lets hope there are a lot of grudge fights in store.
