Just a quick hit here. Your New York Rangers played great in stretches on Sat night but still cannot beat the dreaded Red Wings. Had them down 4-3 late in 3rd and a bench minor for too many men on ice. That has to be on Tom Renney. Wings score on PP to tie then score 20 seconds into OT to win it (Marion Hossa gets 1st goal of year and 300th in career, booo).
Rangos get a point on the road (after being down 2 – 0) but still bittersweet. We can totally skate with that team (but Zetterberg is out as well) No excuses.
Sean Avery back in da house tonight. I am sure greeted by very warm Garden welcome. Ranger fans, do not take me to task, but we don’t know exactly why we let him go. Was it that he interned at Vogue magazine? Or was he hitting on the players wives (its happened before). He was awesome while he was here and we got him practically for nothing from LA 2 years ago. I hate when management trades players because he rankles ‘da bosses’ but if he was a distraction in the clubhouse, better off without him. Besides, Aaron Voros has been an amazing fit this year. Not the same speed but the same grit. No one can argue that!
