Ok, what a quiet week and half and no major controversies to chime in on…
I am not counting NBA ball. Not my favorite but will be interested to see if the Cavs/LeBron make the finals though…
Anyhooo.. Colts/Saints on tap this Sunday (boo, no more football next week!)

Will it end this way on Sunday???
Very brief assessment (Colts giving 6.5 points as of today and the Over/Under at 56.5) The latter number is totally crazy and the highest ever for a Super Bowl..
Colts can pass the ball and their D is underrated…but, Dwight Freeney has a torn ankle and will be limited at best if he plays. This is huge as much as people downplay it. Less pressure on Drew Brees means more time to pass, which means more time to find open receivers…
Saints can run and pass the ball well. They are not easily shaken when down early. They have come back from really big deficits this year when it looked like they were done. Their D is overrated, but it got shredded by the Cards and Vikings the past 2 games.
Unless they can get close to Manning, this will be an easy Colts win. If they can get him to move in the pocket, it will mess up the pass routes and zones…
Ok, so what do I think?
Colts will win but I think it will be close, something like 28-26….I dont think they will cover the spread, so you know where my head and $$$ is at.
No matter what will be a great game even though my teams arent in the mix.
Latah kids.

As predicted on this site last week, both the Colts and Saints won, but they were scary games.
The Saints had this game giftwrapped for them. I counted at least 7 fumbles and 2 interceptions from the Vikings. Not all were lost though but they all counted.
Did they eat greasy food before the game? Incredible. Farve has to blame himself for another bad throw at the end. 2 Championship games in a row ended with an interception from him. Not all his fault but they had a chance to win in the end despite all the miscues.
Makes me wonder how good or bad the Saints defense is. They could certainly be had by the Colts in the Super Bowl, but they are certainly a double threat on Offense with both the Run and the Pass….

Yep, this sums it up well!
Which brings us to the JETS. They were up large early (17 – 6) but impossible to put the Colts away. Almost looked like the Jets ran out of gas and many guys were too slow and didnt cover well. Manning was Manning in the end, but the Colt receivers made so many sick catches. A few drives could have stalled had they not been so clutch.
Super Bowl predictions coming up in a week or so.
Next week is the Pro Bowl. If the Pro Bowl is on and no one is watching, did it really happen?
Later folks.

What will turn out to be the lower scoring of the the two championship games. The Jets-Colts battle on Sunday at 1PM…

Mark Sanchez cool under center
Personally I see the Jets playing tough but will need to shred the Colts D with their running game. I see some big Jet runs but if they stay out of the end zone (i.e. Field Goals vs. TD’s) it will be a long day and a loss for your NY Jets….
Too much Payton (vs. Sanchez. I’ll take my chances there) and the Colts have been here before. A lot of people are discounting the experience and the home field advantage.
Final Score Prediction:
Colts: 24
Jets: 13

Dont F*ck with Us
The second game poses to be a more exciting matchup with the Vikings visiting the Saints in NO. The Vikes D is solid but I think they will fall up in the short end of this game.
Final score prediction:
Saints: 31
Vikings: 24
Till Sunday. Peace out.

Can you imagine the Jets pulling this one off yesterday. Honestly, its not so much a shocker that the Chargers are historical chokers. Look at their playoff history. 3 missed FG’s too? Are you kidding me? Hey, I’ll take it…
I called the score before in my article below, but said that was the only way the Jets win this game and I/they nailed it. No money on the game but I was rooting for them.
I knew the Vikings would win too but what a thrashing. That is what great Defenses do. They take away your plays, both running and especially passing where the QB needs time to set and throw.
Vikes look good but lets see how they do on the road against the Saints. Saints D is good but not great. They could be had, but their Offense is more explosive. Could be a shootout…

Farve Continues Magic Season
I hate to say it, but the swan song is over for the JETS….Honestly, the cant score more than 14 points a game and it will be tough to totally eliminate the Colts playmakers. They have won close games all year and will do the same at home at Indy. It will be another fun game but I dont see the Colts losing unless they turn the ball over 3 times…
Score predictions next week fellas. Let me know your thoughts.
Peace-out.

Even as the Cards were getting crushed and the Ravens unable to do anything against the Colts (both teams lost), NFL ruled the day.
Nothing better than watching a pro game unless your team gets sent packing for the season. Wait till next year. So true for my Steelers, who have no one to blame but themsleves. Not sure how far they would have gone without Polomalu anyway. He didnt play in any games they lost so go figure.
Jets have a shot today but really need to get to Rivers. They wont be able to score and will only win a 17-14 game if they get that lucky.
Sure they can run the ball and the secondary D is solid but they cant afford to fall behind.
The Vikes-Dallas game is the best matchup of the weekend. Cowboys are hot, but Vikes have had rest and playing at home. I see the Vikes winning a close one, like 20-17.
You heard it here first. This post was posted before any scores so mark it town.
Later fellas.

So would you believe it? Anyone but a Jet fan is in shock right now.
Thanks to Dirty Sanchez for not turning the ball over and had a very efficient game against your Cincinnati Bungles (24 – 14)
3 missed field goals (2 for Bungles and 1 for Jets didnt help)…
Right now watching the Cowboys – Iggles game…I think Dallas wins but right now its tied.
Once the Pats get knocked out (please make it so…) then the playoff picture will be complete and ease back watching the games…
Later kids.

Nice 4 – 2 victory last night over the Islanders, but the presence of Sean Avery was definitely a factor. When guys go out of their way to try and hit him, it totally gets them off their game. All in our favor though…2 wins in a row and a tough test on Sunday with Boston Bruins. A character game for us and a chance for the 3 newest players to gel together.
As a reward, I bring you a cheerleader and some model pics below. You may not have even read what I have written but that’s ok. I know where your head is at.

You cannot resist us!
And the cheerleader. Its a sport after all.

Go Suns! Its hot in here

Rangers pick up 2 players today to fit 2 immediate needs at the Trade Deadline. Center Nik Antropov from the Maple Leafs (6′6″ monster with a scoring touch, but enigmatic – sound familiar?) and Defense Derek Morris from the Phoenix Coyotes. Big D with a big shot, which addresses the need on the PP…

Big Nik
The Rangers gave up a 2nd Round Pick to the Leafs and 3 package deal of D. Kalinin, Nigel Dawes and Petr Prucha. Prucha finally gets a chance to play somewhere, but will really miss Dawes. Had great scoring ability, but his size prevented him from playing the top 2 lines.
Love the moves, especially with getting Avery earlier in the week. Now, if Torts can get them all to play their real games, we have a bright future. At least in in the 2009 season.

Derek Morris Welcome to New York
I think we are still short of the Devils, Bruins and Capitals and even the Pens if they make the playoffs, but I still think this puts us in a much better place. Will showcase the new players tomorrow night against the beloved Islanders on short island.
Later foolz.

Sean Part Deux!
In the most unsurprising move of the 2008-09 Rangers season, Sean Avery is back on the Rangers. Thanks to some underhanded dealings from Glen Sather to the Dallas Stars (to be revealed after the season is over I am certain).
Now for a brief but glorious bio of his Ranger days:
Sean Avery has skated in 86 career regular season games with the Rangers, collecting 23 goals and 30 assists for 53 points, along with 212 penalty minutes. The Rangers were 50-20-16 with him in the lineup, and posted a 9-13-3 record in the 25 games he did not dress. In addition, he has tallied five goals and seven assists for 12 points, along with 33 penalty minutes in 18 career post-season games with the Rangers.

Sean Avery Back
Last season, he skated in 57 games with the Rangers, registering 15 goals and 18 assists for 33 points, along with 154 penalty minutes. He ranked second on the team in penalty minutes (154), sixth in plus-minus rating (plus-six) and tied for third in game-winning goals (four). He established a career-high with four game-winning goals.
And not to mention, helped the Rangers totally dismantle the hated New Jersey Devils in the first round of the playoffs. Guided by the “Avery rule” against Marty Broduer.
This is likely the first in a serious of smaller moves on the trade deadline, scheduled for this Wed. The Rangers unfortunately are just at the cap level, otherwise we will see more dead wood unloaded…You know who you are!!
